I DO NOT OWN THE RIGHTS TO ANY MUSIC
Unhealthy attachments can be the death of us. By that I mean they can kill our dreams and desires simply because we’re holding on to something that hinders us from truly chasing our own improvement. Our attention isn’t focused, we’re distracted mentally. Anything that detours you from your dreams/goals is a distraction. My dad always told me to focus on myself because that’s what everyone else is doing when they’re home alone. I understand things may come up, but make sure you keep your goals in the forefront of your mind so you know what you’re chasing after.
We’ve seen unhealthy attachments in many ways. Relationships, friendships, outcomes, etc. One thing I’ve learned is if we don’t address that attachment it’ll stay on us forever. Even then addressing it is just the first step. We must then start to detach from it. I know, it’s hard, but it’s necessary. You ever heard the song bag lady by Erykah Badu? It’s basically about how you can carry your baggage from one situation into new situations and how that load can be heavy to carry if you keep going from situation to situation without addressing that baggage. Eventually, you’ll get to someone who will tell you it’s too much to handle for them. This is why Erykah says to “pack light” because you don’t want someone to see you and think what you have is too much for them. Emotional baggage is just as bad as normal baggage.
To get what you want you’re going to have to let go of some things you love. You can’t bring your current lifestyle into your next blessing. Some things must be left behind, some habits must die, some of your friends may not make it. But the fear of losing all that shouldn’t take you away from what you could become. Don’t let the fear of what you know stop you from the greatness of the unknown.
