Stop thinking you can come into someone’s life and love them however you feel. I saw a tweet that said, “you saw something you liked when you approached me, so now you’re going to have to show me something I like.” I agree with that statement. I feel if you approached me it’s on me to see if I like you how you like me, that’s fair. How can I just be pursued and expected to just love you without really knowing you?
You have to know who you’re dating or trying to date and apply pressure, that’s a part of the shooting your shot process. I’m not asking you to feed my ego, but do you think I’m that easy to where you can just express your interest in me and I just up and jump in your lap? I’m only asking you to show interest in me that you’d like me to show into you. Plenty of people can show interest in something for temporary satisfaction, and I don’t do temporary.
We have to stop thinking that feeding ego is a bad thing. Before you knew me you knew my ego because that’s all you have seen until you got to know me. I’ve always kinda seen relationships as a constant cat and mouse game. No one likes to just chase after someone and never get that same energy they put out put back into them, so that’s when the roles flip and the chaser is now being chased. Think about it, if a dude/girl that liked you came into your life and gave you everything you’ve wanted without having to put any work in would you really appreciate that relationship? You didn’t have to work for the person’s love, so now you don’t realize how important it is to you and them. They say nothing worth having comes easy. It’s just how parents would tell us you don’t appreciate things until you pay for it with your own money.
At the end of the day, people just want to be appreciated and wanted. Having to wonder if someone’s emotions are the same for you or if you have the same intentions in mind for each other is a horrible feeling. It causes you to live in fear rather than enjoying the time you have together. No one loves the thoughts that float around our heads when we feel as if we aren’t good enough, apply pressure, and make sure we are loving people in their love languages so they can understand us. It’s selfish to ask to be loved in your love language, but not being willing to love back in your spouse’s love language. And actually, that goes for relationships and friendships. You must learn the people you are in relationships with to fully be able to get everything you could achieve with that friendship.
